Avalanche Safety Plans

Storm Mountain has extensive experience preparing Avalanche Safety Plans for clients to meet WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Section 4.1 requirements for a Safe Workplace. This regulation states that if an Avalanche Risk Assessment indicates a worker will be exposed to avalanche risk, an Avalanche Safety Plan must be developed and implemented, and where exceptions apply, that workers are sufficiently trained and knowledgeable of the risks, and that there are safe work procedures in place. Storm Mountain’s Qualified Avalanche Planners provide clients with Worksafe-Approved Avalanche Safety Plans, training and Safe Work Procedures, applying Canadian Avalanche Association’s (CAA) Guidelines for Snow Avalanche Risk Determination and Mapping in Canada (CAA, 2002) and Recommended Contents for Avalanche Safety Plans (CAA, 2009) as standards for industry operations in Canadian avalanche terrain.
