Risk Assessments

Storm Mountain provides a complete range of Risk Management Services to the transportation, mining, forestry, and development industries. Storm Mountain has extensive experience preparing Risk Assessments for clients to meet WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Section 4.1 requirements for a Safe Workplace.

 

Storm Mountain has developed various methodologies to assist in quantifying risk and defining acceptable limits. Avalanche Risk Assessments generally involve an assessment of terrain, snow conditions, avalanche history, the nature and duration of work activities, project impacts on terrain and snow conditions, and structures and buildings that may be at risk to avalanche hazard. If risks are found to be unacceptably high, a process is in place to reduce the likelihood of risk occurrence or consequences. One of the main tools we apply to our Risk Assessment process is the SMART Matrix (Storm Mtn Avalanche Risk Table), which is a comprehensive and highly effective method to ensure the safety of field personnel.
